Candidates Exchange Sharp Words In Final Debate.

Sharp words in Ohio's fourth and final debate between the candidates running for governor. Republican Ken Blackwell, behind in polls and fundraising, tried to link Democrat Ted Strickland to the outrage generated by the Mark Foley scandal. Blackwell accused Strickland of being soft on child abusers. Strickland said Blackwell should be ashamed of himself. The two also traded jabs on the economy and health care.

The winner's party will carry an edge in the 2008 presidential election. Two years ago Ohio narrowly gave President Bush the votes he needed for re-election.
