Shootings investigators say no broken window too minor

Authorities investigating the Columbus highway shootings are praising people who quickly report suspicious incidents -- even if they don't ultimately turn up evidence that could lead to the shooter.

Investigators were unable to determine what broke a woman's front driver's side window as she drove along I-270. Franklin County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Steve Martin says she was right to call police.

The shootings task force has not linked any more shootings to the string of 15 since May along a southern stretch of Interstate 270.

Six of those bullets came from the same gun, including the one that killed a 62-year-old woman last month.

That's one of only two unsolved homicides among eleven the sheriff's office has investigated this year.
