OSU expert warns of "hindsight bias" in Columbia probe

Earlier this year the space shuttle Columbia was lost when it tried to reenter earth's atmosphere. In the months that followed NASA began an investigation into the shuttle disaster. Ohio state university professor David Woods advised the Columbia accident investigation board as they examined the causes leading to the disaster. Woods is a professor in the institute for ergonomics and co-director of the cognitive systems engineering lab at Ohio State University. He spoke with WOSU's Carolyn Gramling about the impact that a psychological effect called hindsight bias could have on public perceptions of the board's report.
