You may have seen a few of these videos floating around Facebook. Various artists have been using everything from 3D animations to actual light installations in art galleries to cue up Baroque and Classical music to visually-stimulating displays that are nothing short of mesmerizing.
As it happens, this week a friend of mine posted on Facebook in desperation over the frustrating antics of her wailing 3-year old. He was pitching a fit for hours. Meanwhile, another social media pal had just "tagged" me in a comment on a fantastic video of Bach's "Well Tempered Clavier." So I sent a link of the video to the distressed mother, and hoped for the best. Apparently, it helped her little boy.
Is this a pedestrian variety of Artmedia theory or just another form of entertaining viral video? Who knows, but it is definitely diverting.
So, if you are bored in your cubicle until 5PM, if your toddler is out of hand and needs some distraction, or if you just like great music with or without visualizations, these are for you.
