Jakub Ciupinski's Dancing Theremin

Above: Leon Theremin plays the instrument he invented, the theremin. It's an instrument born of Russian scientific research meant to be of use for espionage.  The most important and bizarre part of it - and open electromagnetic current - can't be seen but must be mastered. Meet the theremin, played in the video above by its inventor, Leon Theremin.  Listen to how the instrument sings in Theremin's hands. Now meet Polish composer and performer Jakub Ciupinski, whose techno-hip performances on the theremin expand the instrument's possibilities. http://vimeo.com/6722052 Theremin made the instrument sing; Ciupinski makes it dance!
