As we celebrate the 200th birthday of Columbus, Ohio today, we are also celebrating the great performers who came to town, past and present. The great violinist Jascha Heifetz and comedian (and not too bad a violinist) Jack Benny both appeared in Columbus at different times many years ago.  A young Jack Benny performed in the Ohio Theatre in the vaudeville days, and Jascha Heifetz, already an established virtuoso, played in Memorial Hall in 1928. On today's broadcast between 2 and 5pm, I'll present a recording they made together. In the meantime, here's a musical skit they did together on a show during World War II: http://youtu.be/seZ4KhYr-Hw
