Severe winter weather causes dozens of flight cancellations, delays at Columbus airport after Christmas holiday

More travelers are expected at John Glenn International Airport this week than in recent months. The airport has social distancing precautions in place.

There have been dozens of cancellations and delays at the John Glenn Columbus International Airport over the past few days due to a massive winter storm that has affected much of the United States.

According to the website Flight Aware, there were 29 canceled arrival flights Monday at John Glenn, which was 19 percent of those flights. There were also 45 delayed flights that were supposed to depart the airport, which was 30 percent of those flights.

So far on Tuesday, there have been 26 canceled arrival flights, which is 18 percent of those flights. There have also been 12 delayed arrival flights so far on Tuesday, which is 8 percent of those flights.

Also on Tuesday, there have been 26 canceled departure flights from the Columbus airport, which is 19 percent of the flights. There has also been 9 delayed arrival flights Tuesday, which is 6 percent of the flights.
