At WOSU 89.7, we are always listening to new recordings, and we are fortunate to work with many fine classical record companies and artists to bring you their newest releases. In fact, the majority of the station’s broadcast schedule consists of programming drawn from our extensive library of thousands of compact discs. You will recognize many artists performing over our airwaves and also make some wonderful new discoveries. A mix of modern and original instrument performances, orchestral and chamber, vocal and choral, provides a fascinating perspective on the greatest music of all time, including the music of today.

In addition, you’ll hear national programs of note, including the Metropolitan Opera Broadcasts, From the Top, Pipedreams, The Lessons of Nine Lessons & Carols, and more!

Some of our best work – our local programs – is representative of the talent found here in central Ohio. We broadcast special Live Performances throughout the year, such as concerts from the Lancaster Festival, the Columbus Jazz Orchestra from the Southern Theatre, and holiday concerts from Downtown Columbus. Christopher Purdy hosts Music in Mid-Ohio, which not only features local musicians, but many visiting international artists as well.
