WOSU AUCTION VOLUNTEERS NEEDED NOW !

The annual WOSU Auction is an exciting and much anticipated fundraising event held each April. But before the show begins, volunteers ages 14+ are needed to help produce this live TV program! We need:

  • Donor Contact Assistants: Put your phone skills to work by contacting repeat and new donors for merchandise to be sold. You are the go-between for WOSU, and ensure that the donors’ experience is positive, smooth, and easy.
  • Go Getters: Volunteers are needed to “go and get” items donated by area businesses and bring them back to the Auction warehouse. You need knowledge of the Columbus area, reliable transportation, and a clean driver’s license.
  • Data Entry/Cataloging Assistants: Use our computers to enter information about each item into our database. Prepare tracking envelopes for each item to be sold on-air.
  • Copywriters: Are you good with words? Volunteers with writing skills are needed to produce informative scripts describing each item. You should be comfortable having your work edited.
Volunteers are needed now, and training is provided for all positions. We are looking for people who have basic computer skills, good telephone skills, and writing ability. You can set your own hours any time during normal business hours (9 am to 5 pm). Beginning March 17, weekend hours will be Saturday 10 am to 4 pm, and Sunday 12 to 4 pm. Enjoy a fast-paced, friendly office environment while you work behind the scenes to help us prepare for this event! These are great jobs for anyone interested in a short term project. Casual business attire preferred.

Pre-Auction volunteers will get free parking. AND, after you work 24 hours or more, your name will be included in the on-air closing credits, and you will receive a cool Auction T-shirt, and the first choices of jobs offered during the Auction.

Auction week positions will be posted about 30 days prior to the event.
