Fact Sheet
WOSU has:
- created a space for the community within the COSI facility;
- renovated space within Gallery 1—the gallery immediately to the right when entering the first floor of COSI;
- developed new programming, provided media literacy and training, and served as a local gathering place for civic engagement, forums, and performances;
- partnered with COSI in other parts of the building and on the grounds to develop media exhibits and programming;
- built a digital media center that includes studios and an interactive exhibit area; and
- extended WOSU’s media resources—AM, FM, TV, Web—deeper into the community.
Why Build at COSI?
- WOSU built a digital media center that is visible and accessible to the community and through which it offers its expertise to the public interest.
- WOSU is interested in using our media resources and expertise to become a stronger community resource. This project expands our role as an enabler of civic discussion about the key issues facing all of us, while growing our focus on the cultural vibrancy of this community.

- WOSU@COSI is in keeping with The Ohio State University strategy to build strong outreach and engagement initiatives.
- The vision statement within the Academic Plan asks Ohio State to "set the standard for the creation and dissemination of knowledge in service to its communities, state, nation, and the world.”
